Backpacking Gear Review

The backpacking gear review section of Pro Gear Review is to give our readers the hard lessons learned when choosing a backpack or what to take/not take while backpacking. It doesn't matter if it weighs a lot or a little. If it's a bad back then you have problems.

While in Jerusalem, I picked up a 3 day assault bag from a military-style shop thinking that if it was made in Israel, it would be a good pack. WRONG! That was one of the worst, if not the worst packs I've ever owned. alt text

My favorite pack is one that I picked up at the Swedish Battalion PX in Saravejo back in 1997. Still use it to this day.

Here I am in Papua New Guinea enjoying probably my 3rd coconut of the day. Extremely hot and humid that day.

When shopping for a backpack or other backpacking gear, be sure to stop here to see what those who have learned the hard lesson, traveled the world and want to pass on their experience to you.
